I met with some old friends at the café of the National Gallery yesterday and we noticed it has a dessert on its menu called National Catastrophe. What could that be? I knew a way to find out.
And here it was, a glass with a pile of sweets, top to bottom: Cream with sweet toppings and what seemed to be sliced almonds, then vanilla ice cream, marshmallows, chocolate sauce, slices of banana, some berry jelly.
I made it to the jelly before I had to give up. Very rich and so delicious!
